Church of the Straight line, The Gathering, and Condominiums of the Devout. These are part of an ongoing project about the straight line and how we use it. I never liked Crystals until recently. Maybe their allure is that they are one of the few geometric forms that occur naturally, (non humanly). There are few things in nature that strive for a straight line. Bee hives are one of them. Honey combs and crystals are like the houses we build as our nests. These things make me feel better about my humanity. I have a place now on earth between a bees nest and a rock, but I still do not understand It. These paintings of houses are an illustration of the human narrative. These are my field notes, observations, and delusions of our human nature.
